WHO? My real name is Robert. I’ll be posting mostly as Anawim, but may also post under various noms de plume depending upon whim, mood and inspiration.
WHAT? Well, I’m not a priest, not a religious, not a theologian, not an academic of any kind. Here are my qualifications for writing this journal: Eighty years as a Catholic layman and eighteen years of retirement to think about it. I’m also the husband of one (for sixty years and counting), the father of five, the grandfather of eight, and the great-grandfather of seven.
WHEN? It hasn’t happened yet.
WHERE? A small town on the Kennebec River in central Maine.
WHY? I was fifty years old before I moved beyond lukewarm obeisance towards my Religion to thinking about my Faith. The physical outcome is a foot-high stack of notebooks and journals accumulated over the years and a possibly inspired impulse to share. The spiritual outcome is somewere beyond my horizon. Your comments, pro or con, can help to get me there.
AND BY THE WAY, the trefoil symbol at the head of each page represents the Holy Trinity and a lily, which in turn signifies Mary, the Mother of Jesus.
Hi Bob, I am really slow to understand and a bit “nervous” I’ve discovered about this whole thing (wordpress and blog-sounds like something from startrek-blog or borg. A borg is an interactive website. Is my responding to your comment the interactive part of the blog process? Thanks for your patience and your persistence. Brian
